According to an adopted ordinance, Dr. C. C. Smith (for white patients) and Dr. H. A. Longdon (for negro patients) have been appointed as city physicians and health commissioners for Moberly. This new ordinance stipulates an annual salary of $450 for Dr. Smith and $150 for Dr. Longdon, with the city providing all necessary medicine. Their appointments are a step towards enhancing public health management in our community.
Additionally, the Commercial Club has been granted permission to use the city lot at the corner of Clark and Rollins Street as a community sale site. This initiative is contingent on the absence of objections from business owners within a one-block radius of the lot. This community sale site aims to foster local commerce and provide a gathering place for residents.
