Harry A. Bartlett Promoted to Sergeant in Army Engineers, Moberly, Missouri · Moberly, Missouri, Saturday, October 24, 1942

Harry A. Bartlett, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Bartlett of 1036 West End Place, Negroes, has been promoted to sergeant in the Army Engineers at Camp Maxey, Texas. Sgt. Bartlett left Moberly for Army service on October 3.

He has joined three other young Moberly Negroes at Camp Maxey: L. B. Swisher, Earl Washington, and Oneat Collins.

In 1939, Bartlett completed his fourth year of training in the Citizens’ Military Training Camp (C.M.T.C.) at Fort Riley, Kansas. He graduated from Lincoln University in Jefferson City last June.
