The Moberly Gatewood Browns are gearing up for a thrilling week with three scheduled games against top-notch teams. The action kicks off this Sunday afternoon with a home game against the Boonville Falcons.
Following that, the Browns will celebrate the Fourth of July with a doubleheader against the renowned St. Louis Pullmans, widely regarded as one of the best Negro teams in St. Louis. The first game will take place in Paris at 10:30 AM on Wednesday morning, with the second showdown happening at Lockwood Field at 2:30 PM the same day.
Local players anticipate a lively contest against the Falcons. Boonville’s Manager Morrison plans to bolster his already formidable lineup with standout players from neighboring towns. Notably, Lefty Johnny Vivian will take the mound for Boonville. The Browns will counter with their strong battery lineup of Gatewood, Troy, and Shropshire.
