The Colored People of Moberly Will Celebrate August 3, Moberly, Missouri · Friday, August 02, 1907

The colored community of Moberly has rescheduled their Emancipation Day celebration to August 3 this year. Originally planned for August 4, the date was changed because it falls on a Sunday, which is not considered appropriate for the festivities.

In previous years, all roads leading to Moberly had excursions to accommodate the many people wanting to join the celebration. However, there will be no excursions this year, so a smaller crowd is expected on Saturday compared to last Emancipation Day.
