W. E. Green, the Negro owner of Lockwood Field in Moberly, has recovered from an illness. He reports that the Emancipation Day celebration at Lockwood Field had over 100 paid admissions. More than $300 was spent at Moberly merchants for supplies used during the event. Additionally, about 100 Moberly African Americans were employed for the day.
